Brendan Andrews is a cabinet maker of the highest order, designing and building custom kitchens, bathrooms and cabinetry from his workshop in East Auckland. Booked out months in advance, he is his business, taking clients from the first design conversation through to the final installation.
Brendan came to me through a connection I hadn't expected, he did his apprenticeship at a kitchen company I had previously built a website for, and his former boss recommended me. Two kitchen businesses, a mentor and his apprentice, both trusting me with their online presence. That kind of referral means a great deal.
Brendan needed a website and wanted someone who would just handle it, so he could get on with his work. That suited me perfectly. I interviewed him to understand the business, visited his workshop to photograph him at work, and built the site from there. Once it was done, we went through it together, made a few small adjustments, and it was signed off.
The photography was central to the project. I visited Brendan in his workshop to photograph him at work, capturing the process and the craft behind what he builds. I also toured completed kitchens with him, photographing the finished work in detail, the joinery, the materials, the precision. That visual evidence does what words can't, it shows rather than tells, and lets the quality speak for itself.
